Welcome to the web site of the Center for Refugees & Immigrants of Tennessee (CRIT), formerly the Somali Community Center of Nashville. We are a non-profit community-based organization created to facilitate the transition of refugees to life in Nashville and in the broader American community.
We strive to provide consistent community services to refugees and to work together to build an environment conducive to refugees’ acquiring the skills necessary to function in their new environment.

English Classes
Classes at CRIT's Office:
Literacy A: Mondays & Wednesdays, 10 am – 12:00 pm
Workplace 1: Saturdays & Sundays, 9:30 am – 11:00 am
Literacy B: Saturdays & Sundays, 11:10 am – 12:40 pm
Workplace 2: Saturdays & Sundays, 1:15 pm – 2:45 pm
Classes at Haywood Lane & Turtle Creek Apartments:
Literacy: Mondays, 9:00 am – 10:30 am
Intro: Mondays, 11:00 am – 12:30 pm
To register for class, come to the Center and take the placement test.
Free Citizenship Test Preparation Classes!
